We left Bettyhill with the wind behind us and just 50 miles left of our 1000 mile journey. Unfortunately one of the riders damaged their tyre on route, so we drank coffee in a friendly golf club whilst Darren located Simon and replaced his bike.
All the cyclists met again 7 miles before John O’Groats and rode in convoy to the finish.
We arrived to some very welcoming ‘other halves’ and Darren with glasses of champagne and medals for us all. We quickly assembled for photos by the iconic signpost, doing our best not to look cold in Pedal Britain t-shirts!
Bikes were handed over for transportation back home and as we boarded the bus for Inverness, the wind and rain gathered momentum. An amazing journey over 14 days with an inspirational group of people making lifelong memories.
