Finally started!
Riding For Rita

 13 May 2019

Hello from At Austell. Finally started!

Our group for 'LEJOG' all met one another last night over dinner and were given a very efficient briefing by the organiser Darren. In summary; eat enough, drink enough & remember you're doing this for the next 14 days so don't speed off on day 1.

Blessed by bright sunshine, we gathered for team photos first thing by the infamous sign post and started our journey towards Penzance. A picturesque first 'brew stop' at Marazion and then a scenic route along country lanes, appreciating the spring flowers and a ticking off a few of the more challenging hills. We enjoyed a sustaining lunch outside at a local tea rooms, after which we caught the chain ferry across the river Fal. The afternoon ride then took us through the charming Tregony and on to St Austell. The final hill was long and slightly relentless, but we had been warned!

So far Gemma and I have become known for talking a lot, even up the hills.

Our motto is it makes the miles go faster!
